The SNSF has appointed Manuela Oetterli, head of the Health department and partner in Interface Politikstudien Forschung Beratung Lucerne, as head of knowledge and technology transfer for NRP 74 "Smarter Health Care".

NRP 74 "Smarter Health Care" aims to analyse the structure and use of the Swiss health care system and to explore how health outcomes could be improved. It will focus on prevention and the treatment of patients with (multiple) chronic illnesses. In the long term, the programme will raise awareness about the current inadequacies of health care data in Switzerland and contribute to improving the usability of this data. Health services research will help to improve diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic services and the way in which they are used. In addition, NRP 74 aims at creating a strong community of health services researchers who conduct world-leading research in this area. As part of her mandate, Manuela Oetterli will develop and implement knowledge transfer and communication measures for NRP 74.
