Bernard Burnand elected as new member of the steering committee.
The steering committee will be supported by Bernard Burnand as a new member.
The steering committee of NRP 74 "Smarter Health Care" consists of eight experts and the president, Prof. Milo Puhan.
Due to the increased demands being made upon him by the synthesis work of NRP 74, Daniel Strech, one of the first members of the steering committee, has decided to resign. He currently has many commitments in Germany and plans to spend several months abroad. He will continue to make himself available to NRP 74 to clarify any questions about the ethics or other matters related to the projects he has been involved with.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for commitment to the programme.
At the request of the steering committee, the Research Council has elected Bernard Burnand, emeritus professor at the University of Lausanne, as a member of the committee for the remaining duration of NRP 74. With his knowledge of the Swiss health care industry, he will be an invaluable addition to the steering committee, which is composed mainly of international members. Bernard Burnand is not only a highly experienced physician but also a clinical epidemiologist with a proven reputation in patient-centred care and health care research. His particular focus will be on the synthesis of patient care.
